Claims against Lawyers in Idaho for Legal Malpractice Must Be Filed Before the Expiration of the Statute of Limitations
In Idaho, the statute of limitations for filing a lawsuit against a lawyer for professional negligence or legal malpractice is two (2) years from the date of the act, omission or occurrence complained of. See Idaho Code § 5-519. However, the Idaho Appellate Courts have held that the accrual of the statute of limitations for legal malpractice is deferred until there is objective evidence of some actual damage.
If you or a loved one is the victim of legal malpractice, you should contact an experienced trial attorney who accepts cases against other lawyers to determine when your claim will expire.
