Horrific Head-On Collision Kills Father and Child

CANYON COUNTY -- A horrific head-on collision occurred last Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. on Idaho 55 near Marsing at milepost 5 when a 2004 Ford pickup operated by Jarome Empy of Mesa WA (age 21) crossed the center line and collided into a 2011 Kia Optima that was traveling southbound on the highway operated by Christopher Frazier (age 35) of Marsing. Both Mr Frazier and his 2-year-old-child died at the scene of the crash. Passengers Stephanie Frazier and a second child were transported to the trauma center located at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for treatment for their injuries arising from the crash.
All occupants of the Kia were reported wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Weather conditions were reported as foggy at the time of the crash.
The Idaho State Police are investigating the collision.
