Bike Crash on East Riverside Drive

Posted on May 13, 2014

BOISE - Boise Police Department issued a traffic citation to 35 yr old Mohammed Abdel Haaseem of Florida for failure to yield the right-of-way while allegedly making a left hand turn in the 900 block of East Riverside Drive on Monday morning resulting in colliding into a bicyclist while attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot. The female bicyclist was reported to have been thrown upon the hood of Haaseem’s vehicle upon impact.

In Idaho the violation of a safety statute constitutes negligence per se. Unfortunately, the Idaho Transportation Department reports that a bicyclist is injury in a bicycle collision every 23.4 hours in Idaho.

If you or a loved one are ever injured in a bicycle crash with a motor vehicle, you should contact an experienced trial attorney for a free initial consultation to ascertain your legal rights and remedies and to determine whether there are any notice requirements that must also be fulfilled including a notice of tort claim or a dram shop notice.
