Homedale Woman Killed in Crash on I-84 Near Pendleton

PENDLETON OREGON - The Oregon State Police Report that a head-on collision that occurred Sunday morning on I-84 near Pendleton, Oregon resulted in both drivers losing their lives. Shane Ware, 48, of Hermiston Oregon was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-84 around 1:30 a.m. causing a head-on collision with a 2001 Chevrolet Venture, operated by Mary Padilla, 47, of Homedale, Idaho. The police report that Ware had forced a 1998 Saturn SL off the road near milepost 217 before crashing into the Padilla’s vehicle head-on near milepost 217. Both Ware and Padilla lost their lives in the crash. The crash is currently under investigation to determine whether alcohol or drugs were involved. A passenger of Padilla was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
