Juvenile Killed in Semi-Truck Crash Near Riggins, Idaho.

RIGGINS, Idaho -- Idaho State Police report a fatal car crash on US 95 at milepost 184 between Riggins and New Meadows just before 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning. The report indicates that 49 yr old Trucker Bruce Long of Pollock was driving a 1997 Kenworth Semi truck logging tractor/trailer southbound on U.S. 95 when a 1987 Camry heading northbound failed to negotiated a right curve, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic with the semi-truck causing a collision with the truck. The driver of the Camry was transported by air ambulance to the hospital in Lewiston. A juvenile female was taken by ambulance to the hospital in McCall, and a juvenile male was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The report indicates that the although the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the children were not. The Idaho State Police is conducting an investigation and collision reconstruction regarding the crash, and crash is still under investigation.
