Scooter Crash at 15th and Main

Posted on May 13, 2014

BOISE - A crash between a scooter and a Mercedes occurred in Downtown Boise and sent the operator of the scooter to the trauma center at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The crash occurred at the intersection of 15th Street and Main Street at 6:25 a.m. this morning. Boise City Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash. The Mercedes was traveling in a northerly direction on 15th Street and the Scooter was traveling in an easterly direction on Main Street when they collided in the intersection. The police report that one of the drivers ran a red light but which driver is unclear at present. The running of a red light in Idaho constitutes negligence per se. In Idaho, a motorcyclist is injured in a crash every 17.0 hours.
