Semi Truck Carrying Tortillas Crashes on I-84

MIDDLETON - Idaho State Police report an accident on eastbound Interstate 84 involving a commercial motor vehicle truck and trailer between the exits of Sand Hollow Road and Middleton Road that occurred Wednesday morning at approximately 6:40 a.m. The Idaho State Police are investing the cause of the collision which resulted in the tractor/trailer flipping onto its side. Traffic is blocked this morning and being diverted on to Old Highway 30 around the crash site. It will take until approximately 1 p.m. for the tow truck to set the truck and trailer upright to tow the vehicle from the scene. The Idaho Transportation Department reports that the trailer was filled with tortillas which are very heavy and must be unloaded from the trailer before the tractor/trailer can be removed from the scene of the collision. The truck driver is reported to have sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
